Thrifty Finds: Oshkosh, Wisconsin Fox Valley Thrift Shoppe (July 9, 2009)

The Finds:
Criminal Minds: The Second Season ($5.99)-I’m not really a fan of this series (I prefer serialized shows over procedurals) but $5.99 was way too cheap for me to pass it up. When I find DVDs at thrift stores, they are usually all scratched up. Thankfully, this set’s previous owner was actually careful with his DVDs since there is very little wear and tear on them.
Gilmore Girls: The Complete 6th Season ($7.99)-This one doesn’t have the outside cover but for $7.99 with no scratches whatsoever, it’s still quite a deal. I haven’t watched the series yet (I have the first three seasons but haven’t gotten to them) but I’m almost positive I will enjoy it. If you are a TV fan in the Oshkosh area, this thrift store also had Magnum, P.I.: Seasons 1 and 8, Diagnosis Murder: Season 1, and I think one or two other DVD sets as of yesterday afternoon.
Green Bay Packers 1998 Media Guide ($1.99)-Thank goodness books were 50% off since I wouldn’t have paid the $3.99 list price. I’m trying to collect all the media guides from the past so this was a nice addition to my collection.
Packers Water Bottle ($0.99)-This was in a bag full of other cups. I don’t really have a use for all the Packers bottles and cups I’ve picked up at thrift stores but I do like to collect them.
Shindig at 1265 Pie Eating Contest Towel ($0.99)-This isn’t really that “Packer” of an item but it does have the logo and Lambeau Field street number so that’s good enough for me.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Watcher’s Guide ($1.00)-“Buffy the Vampire Slayer” is my favorite TV show of all-time so I was glad to pick this book up from the $1 section of the store.
24 Countdown Board Game ($1.00)-I’m not sure how this snuck into the $1 section without being bought but I picked it up the first second I saw it since I’m a huge “24″ fan.
Cheers Board Game ($1.00)-I see this board game at nearly every thrift store I visit so it must not be a very good game. For a dollar though, it’s worth a shot.
Labyrinth Game ($1.00)-I’ve always wanted a labyrinth game and now I finally have one for the low, low price of $1.
3 Different Brett Favre Shirts ($1.00 each)-Someone obviously hates Favre’s guts as much as I do at this very moment. However, since I know I’ll forgive him after he inevitably joins the Vikings, chokes in a big playoff game, and retires for the third time, I still pick up any of his collectibles I can find on the cheap. I don’t display the items though, I’m packing them in storage for two or three years.
Packers Shirt ($1.00)-This one has a few smudges on it but a nice dress shirt for $1 is a good bargain.
