Thrifty Finds: Menasha and Appleton, Wisconsin Thrift Stores (July 25, 2009)
Menasha Goodwill (1800 Appleton Road Menasha, WI 54952):
Get Smart ($2.99)-Just one find at Menasha’s Goodwill but it was a good one. “Get Smart” is a movie I know I’m going to like but I haven’t gotten a chance to watch it just yet. Owning the DVD should finally get me to watch it.
Appleton St. Vincent De Paul (1924 W. College Ave Appleton, WI 54914):
Golden Trivia Game: Star Trek Edition ($1)-This isn’t worth as much as I thought it was (eBay auctions seem to end in the $10-15 range) but I wanted it for my TV collection anyway.
Appleton Echoes Gift & Thrift (1320 W Wisconsin Ave Appleton, WI 54914):
EPCOT Center: Creating the New World of Tomorrow with 5 1982 Disney World Postcards Inside ($0.50)-I don’t always go to this thrift store when I visit Appleton because their merchandise is usually overpriced. There were at least three Packers items there today that I would have bought but they were priced just a little too high for me. I love Disney World (and EPCOT Center is my favorite park) so this book was a steal especially after I found the five postcards inside.
Appleton Big Lots:
Top Cat: The Complete Series, Space Ghost & Dino Boy: The Complete Series, Johnny English, Tales From the Crypt: Season 3, Murphy Brown: Season 1, and The Ben Stiller Show ($3 each)-$3 TV on DVD sets. Sign me up. There were actually a few more cartoons that I passed on because I have far too much to watch anyway.
Appleton Half-Price Books:
Brett Favre Print ($3)-I debated whether I should get this or not but in the end I decided it was worth $3 even if I don’t really like Favre right now. It will probably go into storage until Viking-gate is over though.
