Thrifty Finds: Other Stores in Oshkosh and Appleton, Wisconsin (October 24, 2009)
Appleton, Wisconsin Target:
Star Trek Chekov, McCoy, and Sulu Figures ($1.74 each)-I loved the new movie and have started to collect cheap Star Trek merchandise that I find in stores. These figures aren’t really that great (they don’t even look at all like the characters) but $1.74 is pretty cheap for action figures.
Appleton, Wisconsin Toys ‘R Us:
Samba De Amigo (Wii) ($5.00)-The reviews for this game aren’t that great but I’m usually pretty easy to please when it comes to video games. If I even get 4 or 5 hours of enjoyment out of this game, it will have been worth the price.
Mini Aaron Rodgers McFarlane Figure ($5.00)-I wouldn’t call this a “thrifty find” since I bought it at retail price but since I’ve only found one McFarlane figure at a rummage sale or thrift store in years of searching, I thought it was worth the price just to make sure I got it. I’ve been on the Rodgers bandwagon since the Dallas game in 2007 when he filled in admirably for an injured Brett Favre. He has definitely panned out and is actually the second ranked passer in the NFL as of week 7. I look forward to adding a lot more Aaron Rodgers items to my collection in the coming years.
Oshkosh, Wisconsin Pick ‘n Save:
Packers Breakfast Blitz Cereals ($3 each)-The first box is new to my collection but I already had one each of the bottom two (I picked up two of each cereal just because they are so cool). I’m so glad the local supermarkets made these Packers cereals and I hope next year they make some new covers.
